The Studio

Pottershop Studio is so much more than a space for private movement sessions. It is a place for creativity, learning, and healing.

It is named after my family farm, Pottershop Hollow, located near the Ozark Mountains.  My grandparents lived on the land teaching art, raising horses, and stewarding a deep connection with the land. Primarily potters, they bought the land because of the abundance of spring water and clay. My grandmother was once a student of Martha Graham and my grandfather, in addition to being an artist, was also a brilliant mathematician and inventor. Today, my parents take care of the property as a sustainable tree farm and continuing the family’s values of stewardship by caring for abandoned pets and wildlife. To me, the name Pottershop represents healing, a connection with nature. and a thoughtful intersection of art and science.

That intersection is where I live most of the time.

Art and science are not mutually exclusive- they are symbiotic.

This is why Pottershop is also a place to cultivate creativity. If you are an artist, coach, or teacher of any discipline who would like to teach a masterclass at Pottershop, please contact me!
