CranioSacral Therapy is subtle, hands-on manual bodywork that works with the nervous system to facilitate the regulation of various systems in the body, including bones, tissue, and fluids around the brain and spinal cord. Using a light, almost imperceptible touch, CST releases restrictions and encourages movement without deep tissue work or manipulating joints.
CST can be offered as a standalone practice or conjunction with other methods. I often incorporate movement work into my sessions using resistance bands, yoga, or bodyweight in order to give the body a practical application for new pathways of movement.
What conditions can CST treat?
stress and tension-related disorders
central nervous system dysfunction
acute injuries that may not be able to tolerate more intense hands-on work such as chiropractic or massage
What to expect:
You can remain fully clothed. While CST is often used in massage, they are not the same thing and I do not need direct access to the skin.
You do not need to need to remain perfectly still or quiet. If you want to move around or shift to a more comfortable position while on the table, feel free to do so. It doesn't make the treatment more or less effective and I will just follow your movement with my hands.
With any bodywork, strong emotions can come up. This is a perfectly normal and if you want to have a dialogue about what you're experiencing, it will remain confidential. If you want to know more about how emotions are stored in the body, here's a short video explanation.
Some people feel changes right away and others notice shifts over the course of a few days following a treatment.
New client sessions are longer because we will do a thorough intake before the treatment to discuss your goals, history, and any other related information.
New Client Session (90 minutes): sliding scale $125- $165
Returning Client Session (60 minutes) : sliding scale $80- $120
“Erin is sensitive to each individual's needs, a creative problem solver, and a vast well of knowledge. She encourages intuition and exploration in her work, and she has a healing presence. I cannot recommend her highly enough for all bodywork and training.”
